Swami Vivekananda Scholarship full application process for B.Ed students. Step by step guide with pictures

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship (SVMCM) is a merit cum means scholarship scheme under the government of West Bengal. In this article we will learn the correct way in which BEd students should apply to be eligible for the scholarship. Many students don’t get the scholarship because they make mistakes while applying and hence don’t get their scholarship amount.

Lets begin,

B.Ed students are entitled to receive Rs 36,000 under Swami Vivekananda scholarship in 2 installments. Rs 18,000 in 1st year and Rs 18,000 in 2nd year after they have successfully completed their 1st year. The minimum marks required is 60% in the last qualifying examination. Last qualifying examination means the last examination or course you completed before you took admission in B.Ed.

There are four major steps involved in this entire application process, we will discuss each of them in details –

  1. Application registration
  2. Application form fillup
  3. Upload Supporting documents
  4. Application submission

1. Application registration

The first step is to register yourself on this portal ( if you have previously registered on this website, continue with that application ). Visit the SVMCM official website and click on the ‘Registration’ button on the top right

After clicking a new page will open up, move to the bottom of the page and click on the checkbox on the left and click ‘proceed to registration’.

A new registration category page will open up, look for ‘DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION ( DPI )’ and click ‘Apply for fresh application’.

After clicking, a pop up window will open up on your browser where the following details needs to be filled. We will look at each of them in details.

  • Details of Last Eligible Qualifying Board/Council/University Examination for Scholarship 
  • Present Course of Study
  • Basic Details
  • Password

Let’s continue, the pop up window will ask all the four details mentioned above.

Details of Last Eligible Qualifying Board/Council/University Examination for Scholarship

Select the last qualifying examination or course you have completed from the dropdown list ( B.A , M.A, B.COM, B.SC etc. etc. ), name of your university/council, enter your roll number, 10th passing year, total marks in last qualifying examination and your overall percentage. Any mistake made in these steps will lead to cancellation pf your scholarship application.

Present Course of Study

This section asks for the details related the present course of study, B.Ed, MEd, B.A, B.COM, M.Sc or whatever you are studying. Fill up the blanks accordingly and carefully. Any mistake made in these steps will lead to cancellation pf your scholarship application.

Basic Details

Fill up all your basic or personal details.

Password

Set a password and write the password somewhere as you will need this frequently. Click ‘Register’

After clicking register , it will ask you to enter the OTP that you will receive in the mobile number you provided. Enter the OTP and click verify.

After OTP verification it will show that the verification and registration is successful. Note down the applicant ID and download the registration details as you will need this further in your application process.

With this the 1st step of Application Registration is over.

2. Application form fillup

After the 1st step is completed, head over to SVMCM official website and click in Applicant Login on the top right corner of the homepage. Login using your Applicant ID and passwords and fill the captcha.

After successful login your dashboard will open up which will look like the picture given below. Click on edit profile on the bottom left.

A window will open up which will ask you to fill your basic details. Here many details will be auto filled as you have provided them during registration. You only have to upload the image and signature by maintaining the file size and type as given at the time of fill up. Look at the picture below to get a clear idea.

Click on ‘Save & Continue’

After successful submission of Basic Details form, Personal Details form will be appeared. This section is very very as most students make mistakes here itself and their from gets rejected. Here details of your parents / guardians and details related to your address should be filled carefully. Please select ‘NO’ in place of Whether the applicant is domicile of West Bengal’ or your application will get rejected.

Enter your bank account details properly with your ‘Branch code’ and ‘MICR Code’ which you will get in your passbook and check it properly as this is the account where your money will be credited. See the picture below for get an idea of this section.

With this the 2nd step of Application Registration is over.

3. Upload supporting documents

This section is little complex as it requires some documents to be uploaded. The list of documents required are –

  • Mark Sheet of 10th ( both sides )
  • Mark Sheet of the last qualifying examination
  • Admission receipt of your present course
  • Scan copy of bank passbook front page containing all your account details
  • Domiciliary Certificate
  • Income certificate

Upload each of these documents in PDF Format. Check the declaration box and click on ‘Save & Continue’.

After successful uploading of the documents, a success message will be displayed. Applicants may
download the Application details by clicking on the Download Application Details button. You can view and modify your application form anytime by logging to your dashboard.

Check your application form properly and then click on Submit Application button to submit the application.

NOTE – Once an application is submitted, it cannot be edited unless the application is unlocked from concerned HOI end.

You can track your application anytime from your SVMCM Dashboard by click ‘Track Application’ on the top to check your applications progress and updates.
